Creating a short text component

You create a short text component when you want to reuse a small section of text in multiple places in your website. For example, you can use a short text component to store the name of a product or service.

About this task

To create a short text component, open the applications menu and go to Content > Web Content Management and then click New > Component > Short Text.
  1. Short text component identification
    Specify identification information for the component, including the name, title and description of the component.
  2. Specify a location for the short text component
    When creating a component you can specify the location of the component.
  3. Enter some text in the short text element
    You enter text in the short text element.
  4. Short text component properties
    Specify properties for the component, including the list of authors and owners associated with the component.
  5. Granting short text component access
    Specify the access control settings for the component to determine which users have access to the component and their level of access.
